Arlene Ostrander

Arlene Ostrander We regretfully announce the passing of Arlene Ann Ostrander, who passed away surrounded by those who loved her on April 30, 2021 in Manhattan, Kansas. She will be forever loved and forever remembered by those who knew her.

Arlene was born on August 6, 1947 in Waushara County, Wisconsin to Fred and Edna (Deurest) Ostrander. Arlene was a member of the Big Lakes Developmental Center family for more than 20 years. Throughout the years, she held various work positions in the community and at the Big Lakes facility. Arlene’s favorite pastimes included going out to eat at Burger King, shopping for new clothes, and dancing with her friends to the music of Elvis. She had a fantastic sense of humor, a biting wit, and a determined personality. Arlene was a loyal friend and companion to those she brought into her circle.

Arlene is preceded in death by her mother, Edna (Deurest) Ostrander, and her father, Fred Ostrander. She is survived by her sister, Belva Stevens, and three children.

Loved ones are invited to attend a visitation at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen funeral home on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 4:30pm – 6:30pm.

No funeral services will take place. Arlene will be laid to rest at the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas.
