Bruce McCallum

Bruce McCallum Bruce McCallum, age 75 passed away August 30, 2019.

He was born on March 26, 1944 to George A. McCallum and Pearl A. Young. He grew up on a farm in Chase County Kansas, attending schools in Elmdale. He later
graduated from Kansas State University with a Master’s Degree in Civil

In 1964 he married Donna Zickefoose. Their children are Brian McCallum, Garden City, KS and Jill McCallum, Albuquerque, NM. His eight grandchildren include, Noah, Max, Zoe, Cassian, Liljia and Veronica McCallum; Magdalena and Max Rodriguez-McCallum.

Bruce was the City Engineer and Director of Public Works for the City of
Manhattan for 20 years. After retirement he was a driver for Briggs Auto.
For many years he was the official scorekeeper for Kansas State University
Men’s’ Basketball. Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing and following Kansas
State Athletics, the Kansas City Royals, and Chiefs.

A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 12, 2019 at the Crestview Christian Church, 4761Tuttle Creek Blvd in Manhattan, with the Pastor Devin Wendt officiating. Inurnment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 13, 2019 at the Elmdale Cemetery. The family invites you to meet at 1:30 p.m. at the Elmale United Methodist Church to gather and proceed to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Bruce McCallum
Memorial that will be distributed to his grandchildren for higher education or
a charity of your choice. Contributions may be left in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
