Jennifer Lyn Gassman

Jennifer Lyn Gassman Jennifer Lyn Gassman, age 51, of Manhattan, died August 18, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, after battling CREST Syndrome for many years.

She was born January 14, 1968, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Julius “Sam” and Betty (Stoecklein) Gassman.

Jennifer graduated from Manhattan High School in 1986, and then in 1990 from Kansas State University with her degree in Communications.

She always wanted to work in film and spent some time in California pursuing her dream, and produced two short films and had one considered for the Sundance Film Festival. She was also the author of a children’s book, (The Sky is the Floor and the Grass is the Ceiling). She also loved to play the guitar and had a real passion for music.

Jennifer is survived by her parents of Manhattan; one brother Bruce Gassman of Wamego; and by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 24th, at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Frank Coady as Celebrant. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in the St. Thomas More Columbarium.
