Paula R. Brunson

Paula R. Brunson Paula R. Brunson, age 79, of Manhattan, died July 20, 2019, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, with her husband by her side.

She was born February 5, 1940, in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Paul and Frances (Case) Harmon, and had been a Manhattan resident for 51 years.

On March 28, 1965, at the First United Methodist Church in Oberlin, KS, she was married to Charles Brunson.

She was a Registered Nurse for many years before retiring to stay home and devote her time to her family.

Paula was a member of University Christian Church where she was involved in several Bible studies and loved singing in the choir. She also spent several years investing her life teaching Sunday school. She was a past member of the Nurses Association.

Survivors include her husband of Manhattan; four children: Shanna Gray and her husband Scott of Des Moines, IA, Brian Brunson and his wife Anita of Austin, TX, Darin Brunson and his wife Alicia of Savannah, GA, and Teresa Brunson of Manhattan; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and three siblings: Jim Harmon (Marilyn) of Williamsburg, KS, William Harmon (Pam) of Plainville, KS, and Clara Hammerschmidt (Jim) of Baton Rouge, LA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, July 26th, at the University Christian Church, 2800 Claflin Road, Manhattan, with Bill Shea officiating. Interment will be in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Friday at the church prior to the service.
