Maddie Elizabeth Davis

Maddie Elizabeth Davis Maddie went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 13, 2019 in Rogers, Arkansas.

Maddie was born 9 December 1992 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Maribeth and Marty Bennett. She spent her first five years in Independence, Kansas. In 1997, Maribeth and Maddie moved to Manhattan, Kansas to be married to Randy Davis.

Maddie attended school at Frank Bergman and Marlatt Elementary Schools, Susan B. Anthony Middle School and Manhattan High School, graduating in 2011. She attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas and Harding University in Rogers, Arkansas, majoring in Elementary Education. At the time of her death, Maddie was teaching at the Lowell Elementary School in Lowell, Arkansas, where she was a constant light to her students and coworkers.

A Kanakuk camper and recipient of the “I’m Third” Award, Maddie lived that mantra out every day, putting God first, others second and herself third. God filled Maddie’s heart with passion for her church, her students in Arkansas, all things Disney, and of course her family and closest friends.

On April 13th Maddie lost her seventeen year battle with Juvenile Diabetes, but it didn’t kill her sweet spirit. She is free at last. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Maddie leaves behind her parents, Dr. Randy and Maribeth Davis, her sisters, Lauren and Ashton Kate; grandparents, Luke and Margaret McCullar of Disney, Oklahoma and Jim and Roz Farthing, of Laguna Beach, California, and Marjorie Davis of Lenexa, Kansas; aunts and uncles, Mike and Kate Farthing, of Portland, Oregon, Jeff Farthing, of Napa, California, Jamie Farthing, of Laguna Beach, California, and Ralph and Iris Flournoy, of Fairway, Kansas; her cousins, Mary and Blake Lamberg, of Seattle, Washington, Andy and Katie Flournoy, of Mission, Kansas, Sophia and Rhone Farthing, of Napa, California, Colton Farthing of Laguna Beach, California.

The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday April 18, 2019 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday April 19, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, 612 Poyntz Avenue in Manhattan, with Pastor Troy Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or the to the Lowell Elementary School. Contributions may be left in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
