Margaret A. Pickett

Margaret  A. Pickett Margaret A. Pickett, age 82, of Manhattan, died January 26, 2019, at Meadowlark Hills – Sloan House.

She was born August 28, 1936, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Theodore and Edna (Worline) Frerking, Margaret graduated from Potwin Kansas schools and attended El Dorado Junior College and Kansas State University.

On December 22, 1959, in Potwin, Kansas, she was married to Dirk A. Pickett.

Margaret worked in banking and mortgages and then for the past 19 years has been the housemother for the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Pilot Club, Order of Eastern Star, Women’s Bowling National Association (WBNA), Kaw Valley Rodeo Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, and the Kansas State University Alumni Association.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Dirk on March 4, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her son Kirk Pickett and his wife Susie of Wamego; two grandchildren: Cameo Robinson (Ryan) and Meagan Minneman (Scott); and three great-grandchildren: Chase Franks, Ella and Kyndall Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 31st, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ben Duerfeldt officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.
