Mark M. Meseke

Mark M. Meseke Mark Maurice Meseke, 75, of Manhattan, KS passed away at his home Wednesday, January 16, 2019.

He was born in Junction City, KS June 3, 1943 to Maurice and Arvis (Wilson) Meseke. Mark was a graduate of St Xavier High in Junction City. While in high school Mark wrote a weekly sports column "From the Bench" for Junction City Republic, a weekly newspaper.
Mark went to Kansas State University where he received a BA in Journalism and was sports editor for both the Collegian and the Royal Purple.

Mark went on to work as Communication's Director at Ft. Riley until he retired. He enjoyed working for Habitat for Humanity and attending The Country Stampede. He was an avid Wildcat fan and followed all sporting events where he was friends with many loyal fans.

Mark is survived by his daughter Sara Elizabeth Grimm, her husband Shaun and their 4 children of Avondale, Arizona. Also surviving are Mark's brothers Ben Meseke (Klara), Bob Meseke, and Fred Meseke (Sheila); his sister Nancy Baize and many nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Susan Days and Mary Budden.
Mark was a special person and was an inspiration to all who knew him. He never met a stranger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2900 Kimball, in Manhattan on Thursday January 24, 2019 at 10 A.M. Burial will be private.
The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
