Penelope "Penny" R. Cochran

Penelope Penelope “Penny” Cochran, age 76, of Manhattan, died Wednesday October 17, 2018, at the Reed’s Cove Senior Health Center in Wichita.

She was born on December 29, 1941 in Manhattan, the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Iles) Hoover. She grew up in the Manhattan area and graduated high school with the class of 1959.

Penny work as a bank teller for many years for the Capitol Federal Bank in Manhattan. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, antiquing and being with her family and friends.

Penny was attended the Beecher Bible and Rifle Church near Wabaunsee.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jim Hoover, and her daughter, Rebecca.

She is survived by her daughter Bethany Meares (Michael) of Wichita and her son John Cochran III (Paula, of LaSalle, Colorado; also her grandchildren, Kristine, Kyle, Kraig, John and Christopher; and her brothers, Tom Hoover (Pansy) of Manhattan, Bob Hoover (Jan) of Topeka, and Mark hoover (Cathy) of Minneapolis, Kansas.

Funeral services for Penny will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday October 22, 2018 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel, with Donn Leach officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.
