Eleanor Lang

Eleanor Lang Eleanor Lang, 91, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the Via Christi Village, Manhattan, Kansas.

Eleanor was born on July 2, 1927, in Walker, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph P. and Agnes (Dinkel) Brungardt. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed working alongside her husband on the farm in Norton County.

On May 27, 1947, Eleanor was united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” Lang in Walker, KS.
This union was blessed with two children: Bernard and Sharon.

Eleanor was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. She was a member or St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Densmore, KS, and later a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Norton, KS. Eleanor moved to Manhattan in 2016.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Tony, brothers Gregory, Dominic,
Herman, Joseph and Edwin; sister Amelia Hammerschmidt and an infant sister Henrietta
Brungardt.

Survivors include her son Bernard J. (Rose) Lang of Rapid City, SD, daughter Sharon (Lynn) Zierlein of Manhattan, KS, 6 grandchildren: Aggie (Ryan) Schamberger, Parker, CO, Laci (Hank) Doering, Manhattan, KS, Katie (Jeff) Nuzbach, The Woodlands, TX, Gage (Megan) Zierlein, Marysville, KS, Ben (Kim) Lang, Rapid City, SD and Steele (Jen) Zierlein, Benton, AR; 17 great-grandchildren: Maxine, Vince, Mavis and Blair Doering, Manhattan, KS, Eleanor and Amelia Schamberger, Parker, CO, Olivia, Lucy, Kanon and Riggs Zierlein, Marysville, KS, Nikolena, Catherine and Anthony Lang, Rapid City, SD, William and Andrew Nuzbach, The Woodlands, TX, Wesley and Ruby Zierlein, Benton, AR; sister Henrietta Brubaker, Belleville, IL; brothers Linus Brungardt, Winfield, KS, and Valerian Brungardt, Scottsdale, AZ; sisters-in-law Theresa Dreiling, Victoria, KS, and Rita Brungardt, Wichita, KS, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

A Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, October 13 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, Kansas. Visitation will be before Mass at the church.
