Nathaniel "Nate" Earl

Nathaniel On Monday June 18th our sweet little boy Nathaniel (Nate) passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. He was ten years old. He had the sweetest smile and a giggle that could melt your heart. Throughout his life he impacted so many, especially students, teachers, nurses and anyone that had a chance to get to know him. We count ourselves fortunate to have had him this long. He was a pure joy in our lives.

Nate was born in Boise Idaho on Christmas Eve 2007. He had a chromosome abnormality that was completely unique to himself. We were told he probably would not live past birth, but he surprised us, and has kept on surprising us for ten years. Our family moved to Wamego Kansas in Dec 2011 for work. Nate was welcomed into the Wamego school district with open arms and has received amazing support from his principals, special education teachers, therapists, and beloved paras. Although he had many health challenges and numerous surgeries, he was a blessing in every way. In Hebrew the name Nathaniel means “gift of God” or “God has given” and that is how we view our son. What many people would see as a challenge and burden has been our greatest blessing. He has taught us so much about patience and love and accepting others.

Nate is survived by his mother Michelle Earl, father Rusty Earl, brother Hyrum, and sisters Hannah and Naomi.

We will have a viewing for Nate this Thursday, June 21st, from 5:30-7:30pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel which is located near the intersection of Highway 24 and Vineyard Road (4483 Vineyard Rd, Wamego, KS 66547).

We will hold funeral services on Friday morning June 22nd at 10am-11am (same location). Everyone is welcome to attend.

We will be transporting Nathaniel back to Idaho for another service for family followed by his burial early next week.

Thank you everyone for your kindness and support. We feel watched over and blessed by all our good friendships in Wamego and Manhattan.
