Lois E. Findley

Lois E. Findley Lois E. (Jones) Findley, age 94, of Manhattan died on Saturday June 2, 2018 at Wheat State Manor, Whitewater, KS.

She was born on March 13, 1924 in Grenola, KS the daughter of Thomas E. & Effie Opal (Logsdon) Jones. She graduated from Grenola High School in May 1942.

On September 5, 1948, in Moline, KS, she married Jim Findley. They moved to Coffeyville, KS in the fall of 1949. Lois worked as the Roosevelt Jr. High School secretary to the principal. In 1960, Jim and Lois moved to Manhattan. She resided at the same address in Manhattan for 57 years. In Manhattan, Lois worked as V.P. for 1st National Bank.

She was a 50 plus year member of the First Presbyterian Church, Manhattan, serving as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon & Elder. Lois was a 65 plus member of Beta Sigma Phi. In Manhattan, she belonged to the Omicron Master Chapter.

Lois and Jim were avid KSU football fans. She loved to sew, quilt and play bridge with her friends.

Lois is survived by her sister-in-law: Jean (Jim) Wallace; a daughter: Jan (Jim) Lane and son: Bruce Findley; grandchildren: Jared (Kristin) Lane, Jason Lane and Ivy Knight; great grandchildren: Kaeden Lane & Alanna Emerich along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday June 8, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church 801 Leavenworth, Manhattan, Kansas with Rev. R. Cam McConnell officiating. Private inurnment will be at a later date in Sunrise Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Home Health Care Hospice of Wichita, the First Presbyterian Church of Manhattan or to the Wheat State Manor of Whitewater, KS in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502.
