Judith E. "Judy" Wier

Judith E. Judith Elaine “Judy” Wier, age 60, of Manhattan, died May 14th, at her residence.

She was born June 3, 1957, in Paola, Kansas, the daughter of George Raymond and Anna Mae (Ward) Layton.

She earned her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from Manhattan Vo-Tech in 1990.

Judy was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and had worked in doctors’ offices in Houston, Texas and Manhattan.

She was a caregiver who loved helping anyone in need including her fellow residents and for several people in Manhattan. She was also a cat lover who doted on and will be missed by her cat Tahoe. Judy enjoyed writing and left many of her writings to her family.

She was married to Jeff Lundberg and they later divorced. She then married Ken Wier and they later divorced.

Judy is survived by her daughter Lauren Lundberg-Berryhill of Phoenix, AZ; one grandson Tristan Berryhill; her sister Carol McCullough and her husband Don of Manhattan; and one nephew and two nieces: Bill Wisdom, Lara Wisdom and Melanie Tuttle. She is also survived by five great-nieces and one great-nephew.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 24th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ben Duerfeldt officiating. Private family inurnment will be in Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.
