Nancy J. Woodyard

Nancy J.  Woodyard Nancy Woodyard, age 73, of Manhattan, died April 4, 2018 at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.

She was born August 28, 1944 in Nashville, TN to Harold and Altie Ward.

She graduated from Manhattan High School in 1962.

Nancy married Larry Woodyard February 20, 1965 in Manhattan, KS.

She worked for Southwestern Bell for many years until she retired in 1992.

Nancy loved life and her and Larry’s motto was “lead the way, follow, or get out the way because we’re going to have fun”. She and Larry traveled extensively to anywhere they felt needed to be seen and experienced.

Nancy loved people; her children and grands, the close bond she had with her in-laws and their families, the sisterhood of those she worked with at Ma Bell, the girls from the Cock-n-Bull, her Abate friends, and the children that her and Larry took under their wings and into their homes.

Nancy is survived by her husband Larry Woodyard; her three children: Paul Woodyard and his wife Deborah, Brenda Krause and her husband Mark, Brian Woodyard and his wife Jennifer; 5 grandchildren: Cory Ridder and his wife Taylor, Adam Krause and his wife Kaitlyn, Trace Woodyard, Savannah Woodyard, Madison and Wesley Maynard; and her great-grandchildren: Jase, Allie, and Tate Ridder and Kellin Maynard.

The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Monday April 9, 2018 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday April 10, 2018 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel, with the Pastor Devin Wendt officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Valley View Memorial Park Cemetery in Manhattan.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Homecare and Hospice Inc. Contributions may be left in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
