Cheryl L. Troup

Cheryl L. Troup Cheryl Lynne Troup, 70, of Manhattan passed away on March 5 at Abilene Memorial Hospital after a series of illnesses.

She was born in St. Louis, MO on October 13, 1947. She was married to David P. Troup on December 4, 1971, in the chapel at Mayport Naval Station, FL. He survives. She is also survived by two sons and three grandchildren, Matthew (Jayme) Troup and sons Victor and Jackson Troup of Olathe, KS, and Adam (Amanda) Troup and daughter Veronica Rose Troup of Pittsburgh, PA.

Cheryl attended Florida State University and received her Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Florida. She worked in various positions as a vocational rehabilitation counselor and in other capacities for private and local government agencies, the State of Kansas, and Big Lakes Developmental Center. Her love of antiques led her to her second career as an antique dealer, which she did in various antique malls in Eastern Kansas for several years until a number of disabilities forced her into retirement.

She loved writing and music and became very active in later years on social media. She became very interested in genealogy in recent years. Cheryl adored her grandchildren and her puggle, Diva, who will miss her companionship.

Cremation is planned with later inurnment in Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan, next to her beloved mother Bess Bonner. No services are planned.
