Barbara Jean Faurot

Barbara Jean Faurot Barbara Jean (Kean) Faurot, age 75, a longtime Manhattan resident, died January 29th, at the Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa.

She was born April 14, 1942, in Abilene, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Kenneth and Edna May (Gish) Kean.

Barb graduated from Great Bend High School in 1961, and then from the Brown-Mackie School of Business in Salina.

On October 27, 1979, in Manhattan, she was married to Troy D. Faurot. Troy preceded her in death on December 28, 1982.

She was a bookkeeper for the Sink, Gilmore & Gordon Accounting firm in Manhattan for many years and then later was an Associate at Wal-Mart.

Barb was a sports fan and enjoyed the Kansas State Wildcats, Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. She also enjoyed her flower garden and her pet schnauzer dogs.

Barb is survived by her two sisters: Cheryl Wells of Winfield, KS, and Joy Kimsey and her husband Forest of Shalimar, FL; brother in law, Richard Riedel of Wellsville, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister Kolean Riedel in 2016.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, February 3rd, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Melanie Martin officiating. Private inurnment will be in the Abilene City Cemetery.
