Larry D. Neipert

Larry D. Neipert Larry D. Neipert, age 77, of Manhattan, died Monday January 15, 2018 at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City.

He was born on April 16, 1940 in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Lloyd and Ella Marie (Foster) Neipert. He grew up in the area and graduated from high school in 1958.

On June 25, 1961 at the Randolph United Methodist Church he was united in marriage to Jean Vogelsang. She survives at their home in Manhattan.

Larry served in the United States Army and the United State National Guard and retired after 20 years of service.

He enjoyed going hunting, trapping, fishing, and was an avid gardener. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Manhattan and also the American Legion. His family was also first in his life and he always made sure they were taken care of. He will be missed by all of his family and his grandchildren who were all very special to Larry.

He was preceded in death by his sister Judy Bergen.

In addition to his wife Jean he is survived by his children: Tiffany Eaton (Lee) of Salina, Todd Neipert (Natalie) of Manhattan, and Tammi Stewart (Jim) of Manhattan; also his grandchildren: Chad Edgemon (Rachel), Cody Eaton (Cindy), Zachary Eaton, Amanda Neipert (Paul), Brooke Neipert, Megan Neipert, Brandon Stewart (Madeline), and Tyler Stewart (Sheyenne); and his eight great-grandchildren; and his siblings; Leo Neipert (Maryetta), Bernadine Canady(Wilber), and Carol Lissy.

Memorial Services for Mr. Neipert will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 20, 2018 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ben Duerfeldt officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

The family will greet friends at 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in memory of Larry are suggested to the First Christian Church or the Friendship House-Kansas City. Contributions may be left in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
