Lenore E. "Lee" Bunker

Lenore  E. Lenore Elizabeth “Lee” Bunker, age 94, of Manhattan, died January 15th, at Meadowlark Hills – Stolzer House.

She was born July 23, 1923, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Lorch) Hansen.

Lee was married to Lorenz P. “Larry” Bunker, DDS on November 29, 1942, at the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, IL.

She worked in her husband’s dental office in Junction City for several years, and then worked as an Administrative Assistant at the First Presbyterian Church in Manhattan while the children were growing up, and then she returned to helping her husband in the dental practice.

Lee was a member of the First Presbyterian and had served as a Deacon, and had been a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She loved to play golf and bridge but was passionate for Kansas State sports.

Lee was preceded in death by her husband on September 7, 2007; and by two siblings: Joan Werner and Edward Hansen.

Survivors include her five children: Denise Gardner and her husband Ralph of San Clemente, CA, Craig Bunker and his wife Louise of Scottsdale, AZ, Linda DeJong and her husband Ron of Huntsville, AL, Russell Bunker and his wife Joni of Manhattan, and Scott Bunker and his wife Mary of Mesa, AZ; twelve grandchildren: Kevin & Chris Brighton, Jay, Michael and Mark Bunker, Aaron & Derek Bunker, Jeffrey, Ryan and Kyle Bunker, Blake and Braedyn Woborny; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 26th, at the First Presbyterian Church, 801 Leavenworth St., Manhattan, with Reverend R. Cam McConnell officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Thursday, January 25th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.
