Terry Pierce Walker

Terry Pierce Walker Terry Pierce Walker, age 70, of St. George, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018.

He was born on December 6 1947, in Garden City, Kansas the son of Harry and Virginia Walker. Terry was raised in Cotopaxi, Colorado where he attended Cotopaxi High School. He then attended Colorado State University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in animal science. While at Colorado State, he was a member of Farm House and won the National Championship in wool judging. He also met his future wife Geri Summers while attending college.

After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army National Guard for six years while residing in Ulysses, KS. Terry, Geri and their three sons (Troy, Matt, and Adam) grew up farming and ranching in the Ulysses area.

In 1993 Terry and Geri moved to Manhattan, KS. His wife Geri passed after an extended battle with breast cancer on February 8, 1999. Terry later married Carol Schwerdt on August 11, 2007.

Terry is survived by his wife Carol, his three sons, three step-sons, and by 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother and three sisters. He was preceded in death by one sister.

Family visitation will be from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday January 16, 2018, at the University Christian Church, 2800 Claflin Rd, Manhattan, KS 66502. Interment will be in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.
