Troy A. Hedinger

Troy A. Hedinger Troy A. Hedinger, age 50, of Manhattan, Kansas went to be with his Lord on December 20, 2017, following a massive brain aneurysm. He died at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City where Last Rites were given by Father Patrick Funston of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Troy was born in Manhattan, Kansas on March 7, 1967, at the former St. Mary’s Hospital, the son of Chod A. and Sari L. (Paterson) Hedinger. He was raised in Manhattan and went to Manhattan High School where he was in the class of 1985. After high school, throughout his lifetime Troy had many jobs which included working at manufacturing irrigation pipe in Nebraska, working on a dairy farm in Kansas, owning a Gaming store in Junction City, a tavern in Paxico, plus many more.

Troy liked to fish, cook and was an avid reader and gamer.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Honora Paterson and his paternal grandfather, Charles Hedinger.

He is survived by his parents, Chod and Sari Hedinger of Manhattan, his brothers: Eric Hedinger of Kansas and Ryan Hedinger of Washington state and his paternal grandmother: Bernice Hedinger of Manhattan. He is also survived by his two nieces: Mina Hedinger and Samantha Hedinger, both of Washington state and numerous second and third cousins.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan with The Rev. A. Patrick Funston officiating. Family and friends are invited to meet at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. to form a procession to the cemetery. Cremation has taken place.

Troy loved his two nieces and would have enjoyed seeing them go to college. In his memory and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Learning Quest, an education fund that will help provide funding for his nieces education. Checks should be made to Learning Quest and may be left in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
