Christopher L. Hudson

Christopher L. Hudson Christopher L. Hudson, age 58, of Ogden, Kansas, died Monday, December 11, 2017, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on July 22, 1959, in Manhattan the son of Robert and Connie (Belk) Hudson. Chris was a lifetime area resident and Manhattan High School graduate.

For many years Chris worked as a heavy equipment operator for Bayer Construction prior to going to work for himself at Action Backhoe.

Chris enjoyed working with tools and spending time in his garage tinkering around on various projects. He also enjoyed mowing his lawn and playing horse shoes. His love for animals was reflected in the enjoyment he received from the companionship of his dogs.

On November 13, 2001, in Manhattan, Kansas he was united in marriage to Kenda Schmidt. They enjoyed 16 years of marriage during which for the past 14 years Kenda was his loving caregiver.

Survivors include his wife, Kenda, of the home. Also surviving are two step-children: Alex Schmidt and Alysia Lendowski, both of South Dakota, his mother and stepfather: Connie and Harold Oppenlander of Florida, his sister: Mitzi Quinn, 16 step grandchildren; and his dear friend since childhood, Terry Hendrick of Ogden, Kansas.

Chris was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Cremation will take place with a private service to be held at a later date with family and close friends.
