Rex S. Brennan

Rex S. Brennan Rex Stanley Brennan, age 68, of Manhattan, passed away on September 5, 2017 surrounded by his family at the Promise Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas.

He was born on May 20, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to Lawrence and Shirley Brennan. His family then moved to Bonita, California a few years later to raise Arabian stallions.

At the age of 18, Rex began his military career by joining the Army. Following 4 years of service, he then went on to Kansas State University and graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

On February 21, 1987 Rex married Rak Pun Yu.

Rex decided to continue his military career in the Air Force, where he served 18 years. He retired as an Air Force Colonel in Public Health, the highest rank in his field at the time. He loved his work. He was a natural born leader, and his ability to work with anyone allowed him to excel at his job. His generosity and kindness to all will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Rak (MiSuk), daughter Olivia, and son David.

The family will greet friends during a visitation time on Wednesday September 13, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Mr. Brennan will follow the visitation at 10:00a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will be held at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Riley.
