Henry H. Toney

Henry H.  Toney CSM (RET) Henry Howard Toney, age 65, of Manhattan, KS, died Thursday morning, June 22, in his home in Manhattan.

He was born on January 11, 1952, in Columbia, Mississippi, the son of Thomas Walker Toney and Susie Lee Toney. CSM (RET) Toney has been a Manhattan resident since May of 2002.

He was drafted into the United States Army in November 1972 and attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Following Basic Training, he attended Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and graduated as a Combat Engineer. He retired after 30 years of service on November 30, 2002 at Fort Riley, KS.

On September 3, 1983, in Hinesville, GA, he was united in marriage with Patricia Ann Toney. He is survived by his three daughters: Dorthea Sequeira of Tucson, AZ, Karyn Stouffer of Cheyenne, WY, Shantae Hill-Cook of Manhattan, KS, two sons: Jomoore Toney of San Diego, CA and Micheal Toney of Blue Springs, MO, Two sisters: Deborah Meyers of Columbia, MS, Phadra Glenn of Houston, TX, and 7 grandchildren.

CSM (Ret) Toney was preceded in death by his parents and wife: Patricia Ann Toney.

Graveside Services with full military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday June 30, 2017 at the Fort Riley Main Post Cemetery, Fort Riley, Kansas.

Friends may arrive at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas at 10:20 a.m. on Friday to form a procession to the cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Semper Phi Fund or to the Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at KSU in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
