Paul D. Walsh

Paul D. Walsh Paul David Walsh, age 61, of Manhattan, died April 21, 2017, at his residence.

He was born February 16, 1956, in Buffalo, New York, the son of William and Marilyn (Kirkindall) Walsh.

Paul graduated from West Seneca Central High School in West Seneca, New York in 1975.

He worked at the Dunlop Tire Manufacturing Plant as a tire builder, quality control and as the Union Steward. He retired after 19 years with the company. He then worked for Caterpillar (Balderson) Manufacturing in Wamego, KS, prior to working in Facilities at Kansas State University.

Paul was a displaced Buffalo Bills fan, and enjoyed hunting with a bow and a gun, trapping, building duck habitat, fishing, riding his bicycle and motorcycle, and recently got into gardening.

On March 16, 2013, at Seven Dolors Catholic Church he was married to Melissa (Spurlock) Filby. Melissa survives of the home. Additional survivors include his son, Ryan Walsh and his wife Elizabeth, two grandchildren: Kirra and Remmi; three siblings: Dan, Kevin and Lynn; his mother-in-law, Renee Spurlock; step-son, Jeremy Filby and his wife Dr. Amy Penrod-Filby, and their two children Jenna and James.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Madonna “Donna”.

Cremation is planned with a celebration of his life at a later date.
