Bessie Wray

Bessie Wray Bessie Wray, age 90, died on March 26, 2017 at her residence in Manhattan, Kansas.

She was born on December 23, 1926 in Sparks, Nevada the daughter of Lloyd Everett and Mary Fern (Nelson) Inman and had lived in Manhattan since 1966.
Bessie graduated from high school in Sparks, Nevada. She was a menu coordinator at St. Mary’s Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas.

Mrs. Wray was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was also a member of the Riley County Genealogical Society. Bessie was very proud of her Scottish roots. She adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and entire family along with many friends. Bessie loved to dine out whenever she could and share her clever wit with family and friends.

Bessie was married on December 2, 1946, in Sparks, Nevada and sealed a year later in the Arizona Temple in Mesa, Arizona to Milton R. Wray.

Survivors include her children: Mary Lee of Hutchinson, E. Evelyn Wray of Luray, Deborah Davis (Phil) of Wamego, Elizabeth Hinkle (James) of Longview, TX, Ruth Freeman (Robert) of Franklin, TN and Edward Wray (Elizabeth) of Sylmar, CA. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and a brother: Jim Inman (Dorthea) of Sparks, Nevada.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Milton on July 24, 1995, a granddaughter: Sarah Hinkle; a brother and 2 sisters.

The family of Mrs. Wray will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12: 30 p.m. on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2812 Marlatt Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Sunrise Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas.
