Paulina Aldrete Casey
Paulina Aldrete Casey, age 68, of Manhattan, died March 5, 2017, at her residence as the result of an extended illness.
She was born January 9, 1949, in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, the daughter of Jose Luis and Lucinda Noriega Aldrete.
Paulina grew up in Culiacan, Mexico and El Paso, Texas. She got her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at the University of Texas in El Paso and continued her education in Mexico City.
She moved back to El Paso, Texas, to take care of her brother after he had a serious motorcycle accident. After that she became a grade school teacher in Canutillo, New Mexico.
On October 27, 1984, in El Paso, Texas, she was married to Michael R. Casey. Mr. Casey survives of the home. Additional survivors include their two sons: Michael R. Casey, Jr. of Kansas City, KS, and Christian P. Casey and his wife Eneyda of Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, TX, and their son Cooper Casey; her mother, Lucinda Aldrete of El Paso, TX; and three siblings: Phil Aldrete of Centennial, CO; Norma Alarcon of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico; and Gilda Mora of El Paso, TX.
After moving to Manhattan, Ks in 1993 with her husband and two boys, Mrs. Casey was an Instructor at Kansas State University in Modern Languages teaching Spanish 1, 2, 3 and 4, and was fluent in English, Spanish and French.
Paulina was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M on March 10 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dr. Dennis Ackerman officiating. Cremation will follow the services with inurnment in Culiacan, Sinaloa at a later date.
