Velma Resseguie, age 85, died on Tuesday February 21, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House, Manhattan, Kansas.
She was born on March 1, 1931 in Farnum, Nebraska the daughter of Fred E. & Dora (Johnson) Weiss. She was a cook for public schools in Kentucky until her retirement.
Velma was united in marriage to Donald R. Resseguie on September 30, 1948 in Stockville, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two children: Dennis & Tammy.
She loved quilting, doing puzzles of all kinds, traveling with Don and baking, especially her pies. She was also very involved with her churches in Kentucky and Kansas. Above all, she loved being with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Donald on July 4, 2001; her son: Dennis; her daughter: Tammy; her sister: Sharon Banzhaf and a grandson: Danny Arms.
Survivors include her grandchildren: Tammy Sock of Clay Center, NE; Terry Resseguie of Manhattan, KS, Kelly Canady of Starke, FL along with seven great-grandchildren; her sisters: Lavinna Banzhaf and Ilene Rockwell, and her brother, Harlan Weiss; and other family members.
Graveside inurnment will be in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska at a later date.
