Tony M. York
Tony Michael York, age 59, of Hartford, Kansas, died January 28, 2017, at his residence.
He was born February 24, 1957, in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Richard and Ruth (Gieber) York. He graduated from Manhattan High School in 1975 and from Emporia Technical College in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
Tony held his masters license in HVAC.
He was raised in the Catholic Church, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He enjoyed riding his Little Chops in parades.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, scratch tickets, and casino trips, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Tony was always willing to help if he could, had a big heart, and was a little ornery.
Survivors include his companion and caretaker, Tina Martin of the home; three sons: Michael York and his fiancé Jessica of Valdosta, GA, Jason York and his wife Crystal of Valdosta, GA, John Wilson and his wife Annamarie of Hartford, KS; two sisters: Joy Cox and her husband Lee of Wichita, KS, and Annette Hardaway and her husband Jim of Augusta, KS; and numerous grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation is planned. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 15th, at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ogden, with Father Kerry Ninemire as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Ogden.
