Max A. Poindexter
Max Alan Poindexter, age 63, of Manhattan, died January 31, 2017, at his residence.
He was born November 5, 1953, in Frankfort, Germany, the son of Conde and Beatrice (Mixon) Poindexter. Max spent his early years in his beloved Florida before returning to Manhattan. Max attended Manhattan High School.
Max married Kay Davis on June 19, 1987, in Manhattan. He was a master stone mason, working all over the region on commercial and residential projects for over 40 years.
Max was a member of the Eagles Lodge and played in a pool league for the Cock and Bull. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, cooking, and riding motorcycles. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Max is remembered in life by Kay; sister, Alice Pride and her husband Richard of Riley; mother-in-law, Dena Davis of Manhattan; brother-in-laws, Mike Davis and his wife Leslie and Scott Davis and his partner Wendy, all of Manhattan; and many adored nieces, nephews and friends. Max was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Dale Davis.
Cremation is planned with a celebration of Max’s life taking place on Saturday February 11 at 4:00pm in the Blue Hills Room at RC McGraw’s.
