Anita Silva, age 92, of Manhattan, died Tuesday January 31, 2017 at her home in Manhattan.
She was born in Manhattan on February 5, 1924, the daughter of Pedro and Apolonia (Gamino) Silva. She grew up in Manhattan and graduated from Manhattan High School.
Anita worked for her brother Ignacio until she retired. She was generous in many of her charities.
She was a member of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan.
Anita lived for many years with her brother Ignacio and her sisters, Pauline and Carmen.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Emmett Silva, Elizabeth Vera, Natalie Garibay, Joseph Silva, Pauline Silva, Carmen Silva and Ignacio Silva. She was the last of her siblings.
The family will greet friends during a visitation from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday February 5, 2017 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. A Christian Wake Service with the Rosary will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday February 6, 2017 at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church with Father Kerry Ninemire as Celebrant. Interment will follow the service in the Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan.
