Carmen Silva, age 96, of Manhattan, died Friday January 27, 2017 at her home in Manhattan.
She was born on March 4, 1920 in Manhattan, the daughter of Pedro and Apolonia (Gamino) Silva, and was a lifetime Manhattan resident.
She graduated from Manhattan High School. Carmen was an accountant for Kansas State in the Agronomy Department.
Carmen was a member of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan and of the Seven Dolors Altar Society.
She is survived by her sister Anita Silva of Manhattan and also her many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 30, 2017 at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan, with Father Kerry Ninemire as Celebrant. Interment will follow the service in the Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan.
The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday January 29, 2017 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.
A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home following the visitation.
