Roy Strifler, age 68, of Manhattan, died January 15, 2017, at Stormont-Vail Health in Topeka.
He was born February 26, 1948, in Westmoreland, Kansas, the son of Bernard L. and Annabeth (Eversmeier) Strifler.
Roy graduated from Blue Valley High School in 1966 and received his Barber’s License in 1967.
He owned and operated his own barber shop for several years and then provided barber services at several retirement facilities until his health issues required his retirement.
He enjoyed volunteering in the community, riding motorcycles, his coffee group and KSU sports.
Roy enjoyed family events and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
He is survived by his two sons: Troy and Shaun Strifler; two step-children: Jason Hall and Tiffany Kear; his mother, Annabeth Strifler; one sister, Sara Strifler; two grandchildren: Nathaniel and Chance Strifler; several step-grandchildren; and two nephews: Kyle and Kevin.
Roy was preceded in death by his father and brother Zane.
Cremation is planned with private family graveside services in the Westmoreland Cemetery.
