Larry E. Rose

Larry E. Rose Mr. Larry Edward Rose, son of Thomas Edward Rose and the late Norma Jean Rose (Hoyt) was born on January 12, 1948 in Muncie, Indiana. He attended Muncie and Selma community schools and was graduate of Ball State University. Joining the Navy in 1966, Larry served his country dutifully and honorably both home and abroad, leaving the service in 1972. He would join both the U.S Army and the Air Force in a reserve status years later, ultimately ending his service in the early eighties. A dedicated talent with an analytical mind, after graduating from ball State University, Larry began work for Ball Corporation of Muncie, IN as an engineer. In 1980 He was employed by Borg Warner automotive, a career that would span the next 28 years.

In that time He married his first wife, Linda Rose Rose (Badillo) of Orrville, Ohio in 1975, to which they had two Children, Jeremiah Rose and Emily Rose. Their marriage ended in 1984. Larry would remarry in May of 1990 to Mary Elizabeth Hill of Muncie, Indiana. They had no children together but their marriage would last 25 years.

A dedicated father and a dutiful husband, he was known for his Sharp wit and dry humor. He loved carpentry and was a great mechanic who loved to tinker. His life has left an indelible mark on those he knew and is missed and loved by many.

Larry quietly Left this world after a long battle with an incurable illness on January 8, 2017 at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Rose (Hoyt); stepmother Ruth Rose (Rench) and his stepson Gregory Cordell Hill.

Private Graveside Services will be held at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Riley, 5181 Wildcat Creek Road, Manhattan, Kansas 66503.

Memorial donations in memory of Larry made be made to the Larry Rose Memorial Fund. Contributions may be sent to Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan Kansas 66502.
