Ralph D. Mullet
Ralph Mullet passed away the evening of December 31, 2016 at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan.
He was born January 10, 1933 in New Orleans to Victor & Jennie Mercier Mullet. He served in the Army 2 years and was honorably discharged from active duty November 22, 1955 at Fort Riley, KS. Just before his discharge he met Betty Tidquist at the roller skating rink in Manhattan. They were married 9 months later on August 5, 1956 in Cleburne, Kansas.
He was the only one of his siblings that left New Orleans. Ralph was a member of First Lutheran Church, life time member of the American Legion, Ogden. When Ralph had good health he enjoyed ushering at church, league team bowling, catfish fishing, later years brought jigsaw & word find puzzles. Ralph's employment included Skaggs Motors, Federal Civil service at Fort Riley, J C Penney and Alco in Manhattan.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Tidquist Mullet of their home; daughters Nancy Warnica and Lisa Curtright, of Manhattan; his 5 grandchildren: Chris Curtright, Tabitha Curtright, Jay Martinson, Jayme Koch, Jennifer McBerry ; and 12 great grandchildren & companion dog, Sid. He was the last uncle of 4 surviving nieces.
Ralph was preceded in death by a stillborn son, David Jay on December 30, 1960; his parents, 7 siblings.
Graveside Services with Military Honors are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 10, 2017 at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Riley, 5181 Wildcat Creek Road, with Pastor Jerry Reynolds of First Lutheran Church officiating.
