John B. "DK" Barclay
John Bly “DK” Barclay, age 76, of Manhattan, died December 14, 2016, at Stoneybrook Retirement Community in Manhattan.
He was born February 21, 1940, in Manhattan, the son of George Leo and Estella Fay (Coffey) Barclay.
John graduated from Manhattan High School in 1957.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era as a Sergeant and then was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves as a First Sergeant.
John worked for the Wareham Hotel, Viking Manufacturing, was a co-owner of B & B Glass prior to owning and operating DK Donuts in Manhattan.
He enjoyed collecting coins and hunting and fishing. He collected all the state quarters and enjoyed giving them as a gift to his friends and family.
John is survived by his brother, Robert Barclay of Manhattan; two nieces: Vicki Gage and Cynthia McKechine; and one nephew Kirk Drapeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three half-brothers: Ray, Ace and David Drapeau; and by one sister in infancy.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 20th, at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery southeast of Manhattan.
