Bill M. Berry
Bill Berry, age 79, of St. George, died December 6, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan.
He was born October 19, 1937, in Wakeeney, Kansas, the son of Virgil and Jessie (Hammar) Berry.
Bill graduated from St. George High School in 1956.
He was a machinist and had worked for Allied Viking and then McCall Pattern Company retiring in 1993.
Bill was a member of the National Greyhound Association and liked coaching his sons’ baseball teams, farming, raising and running greyhounds and working was his hobbie.
On October 13, 1956, in Clay Center, Kansas, he was married to Glenna Adolph. Mrs. Berry survives of the home. Additional survivors include four children: Rusty Berry and his wife Lynne of Leonardville, KS, Sherry Smith and her husband Gordon of Manhattan, KS, Rick Berry and his wife Melanie of Manhattan, and Steve Berry and his wife Karen of Springfield, MO; one brother: Lonny Berry and his wife Carolyn of Garnett, KS; seven grandchildren: Alicia Scofield (Rob), A.J. Berry (Calley), Lindsay Lauppe (Craig), Craig Berry, Max, Jacob and Stevi Kay Berry; and five great-grandchildren: Gracie and Mason Scofield, Macy and Rowdy Rusty Berry and Everly Lauppe.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery southeast of Manhattan.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.
