Daniel J. "Dan" Beier
Daniel Joseph (Dan) Beier, 53, of Manhattan, died unexpectedly in his home, November 21, 2016.
He was born July 27, 1963, in Grand Island, NE to Weldon R. and Marie C. (Schlick) Beier.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, his older brother David Beier and a great-nephew, Tate Beier.
Dan is survived by two daughters, Heather Risdon (Evan) and their children Emmett and Nolan of Marathon, FL, and Megan Corral (Derek) and their children, Dane, Knox, and Jaxson, of Riley KS. Also surviving are his siblings: Mike Beier (Margaret), Steve Beier (Lynn), Pamela Miller, Jean Roberts (Lynn), all of Manhattan, Sherrie House (John), Madison, SD, Patricia Riley (Randy), Flower Mound, TX, Bill Beier, Charlene Gormley (Fred), and Carol Beier Wear all of Hutchinson, KS and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dan moved to Manhattan in 1969 with his family where he attended Seven Dolors School and graduated from Manhattan High School.
Dan loved life. He loved fishing as a boy and it was just known that if you couldn’t find him…he was fishing. He held several jobs throughout Manhattan as a cook, bartender, home maintenance, and other various ventures.
Dan previously had lived in Colorado and he always dreamed of one day moving back. He was a lover of classic rock music, it was a passion of his. He also enjoyed cooking.
Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan with Father Merlin Kieffer as celebrant.
