Theda Campbell, age 95, of Manhattan, died November 12, 2016, at Meadowlark Hills Stolzer House.
She was born July 1, 1921, in Norton County, Kansas, the daughter of Carl and Alma (Leuzler) Foland.
On May 23, 1943, in Manhattan, she was married to Ronald Campbell. Mr. Campbell preceded her in death on January 13, 1994.
Theda graduated from Kansas State University in 1944 with her Bachelor of Science.
She worked as a medical technologist for Drs. Durkee and Boese, at Memorial Hospital, and in Dykstra Hall at Kansas State University Veterinary Medicine Hospital.
Theda was a member of the Church of Christ. She volunteered at the Riley County Battered Women’s Shelter and as a Docent at Konza Prairie.
Survivors include her three daughters: Bonnie Peterson and her husband Fred of Manhattan, Susan Campbell and her husband David Brook of Portland, OR, and Marcia Miller also of Portland; one brother, Jack Foland of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren: Corilynn Campbell-Singer, Bailey Milner, Ron Peterson, Maranda Camera and Kaleb Miller; honorary grandchildren, Jampa and Tseten Lathsang; nine great-grandchildren and 3 honorary great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, parents; and five siblings: Marvel Klute, Joe, Merle, Neil, and Gene Foland.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 23rd, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 22nd, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.
